Summary The Sign Estimator is responsible for analyzing the costs associated with prospective sign projects, including labor, materials, installation, and permitting. This individual will create accurate and competitive proposals for our customers. The Sign Estimator will also manage project-specific materials ordering, prepare permit applications, and finalize invoices upon project completion. The ideal candidate will be proficient in cost analysis, have a strong understanding of the sign industry, and be able to work effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams. Responsibilities Analyze project specifications, designs, and other documentation to determine project requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for a variety of sign projects, including labor, materials, installation, and permitting fees. Obtain quotes from vendors and suppliers for materials and services as needed. Create professional proposals for customers. Manage project-specific materials ordering upon project approval. Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant authorities. Track project costs and identify any potential cost overruns. Take ownership of the company’s pricing system, ensuring all cost data is accurate and up-to-date. Finalize project invoices, including any adjustments for changes in project scope. Utilize Squarecoil software to manage estimates, projects, and related tasks. Requirements Proven experience as a Sign Estimator or in a similar role within the sign industry. Strong understanding of sign materials, fabrication processes, and installation techniques. Proficiency in cost estimation principles and methods. Ability to read and interpret project specifications, designs, and other technical documents. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Experience with Squarecoil software is a plus. Knowledge of local permitting processes and regulations is preferred.
