We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in project planning and cost control.

Job Summary:

As our Residential Construction Estimator, you’ll be responsible for evaluating construction plans, preparing detailed cost estimates, sourcing pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and supporting the sales and project management teams with accurate, timely estimates. Your work will directly influence the success and profitability of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review architectural plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates Perform material takeoffs and quantify labor needs utilizing available technology provided Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical data Prepare and verify purchase orders (POs) for subcontractors, ensuring all details are accurate and align with project requirements Collaborate with project managers, architects, and suppliers to clarify scope and resolve pricing discrepancies Prepare estimate packages for client proposals and internal reviews within a reasonable timeframe Track changes in plans or scope of work and update estimates accordingly

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of residential building systems, materials, and codes Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, PlanSwift, Hyphen Homefront, or similar) Excellent math and analytical skills Attention to detail and the ability to work independently Strong communication skills for working with both field and office teams Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents Ability to utilize programs and electronic tools provided to create accurate takeoffs and assemblies Ability to follow established systems procedures and to create and or improve said systems

Bonus Points For:

Field experience in residential construction Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheet organization for cost tracking and analysis

$35,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
