The Role We’re hiring an experienced Construction Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts and produce accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and industrial projects. You’ll work closely with the leadership team, project managers, clients, and subs to develop detailed scopes, pricing, and bid proposals that reflect both quality and value. This is a key role where sharp thinking, attention to detail, and clear communication drive results. You’ll be responsible for turning plans into clear budgets — and setting every project up for success before the first shovel hits the ground. Responsibilities Preconstruction & Bid Preparation Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of commercial and industrial projects Analyze drawings, specs, and bid documents to understand scope and requirements Perform takeoffs, pricing, and quantity surveys for all trades Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination Solicit bids from qualified subcontractors and suppliers Evaluate quotes for accuracy, coverage, and competitiveness Maintain and grow a strong network of reliable trade partners Scope Development & Value Engineering Help identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, or cost-saving opportunities Offer value engineering options to clients without sacrificing quality Collaborate with PMs and superintendents for real-world input Estimate Review & Presentation Assemble complete bid proposals with detailed breakdowns Present estimates and scopes clearly to both internal leadership and external clients Adjust estimates based on client feedback or design revisions Post-Bid Follow-Up Support handoff to project management once work is awarded Participate in project kickoffs and ensure budget alignment Stay involved in project transitions to maintain estimate integrity What You Bring 5-10+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction estimating Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and bid documents Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Excel) Clear, professional communicator — written and verbal Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven Strong math, logic, and judgment skills Familiarity with local market pricing and subcontractor base Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred Valid driver’s license and ability to attend site visits when needed What We Offer Competitive salary plus performance-based bonuses Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Training and development opportunities Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement for job-related travel How to Apply Send your resume and a short cover letter to: Let us know why you’re a great fit — and how your estimating experience can help us continue to build with confidence.
