The Estimator will play a crucial role in the early stages of project development by producing accurate and detailed estimates for industrial projects. This individual will analyze technical documentation, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to the creation of competitive and reliable proposals that support project success and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication, aluminum fabrication, and stainless-steel projects. Review project specifications, blueprints, and related documentation to evaluate project scope and requirements. Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and determine material, labor, and equipment costs. Collaborate with sales and project management teams to develop pricing strategies and finalize proposals. Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and supplier information for accurate quoting. Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes for alignment with project requirements and cost efficiency. Communicate with customers to clarify bid expectations, answer technical questions, and ensure alignment on deliverables. Track bid results and provide feedback for continuous improvement in estimating practices.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in steel and metal fabrication estimating, with a strong understanding of industrial construction practices. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications. Familiarity with welding, bolting, and installation methods for structural steel. Basic knowledge of AISC and AWS standards (preferred). High attention to detail and accuracy in estimating material and labor costs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with sales, project managers, and clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software tools. • Power Fab), or similar programs (preferred). Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu (preferred).
