Truss Designer / Estimator Marga Consulting Danbury, NH 03230 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, and ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in construction management software, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation. Working knowledge of Mitek/Alpine and/or estimating applications Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and timelines. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary data for accurate estimations. Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Monitor ongoing project costs against estimates to control expenses and identify potential budget overruns. Provide support in project management by assisting with scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment. Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects. Qualifications Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry or a related field. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in cost control methods and techniques. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with contractors and suppliers. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimations. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
