CAD Design Estimator Cyr Lumber & Home Center Windham, NH 03087 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team at Cyr Lumber & Home Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD design and blueprint reading, with proven experience in engineered lumber layout and estimating for residential and light commercial projects.. Responsibilities Review architectural and structural blueprints to determine material requirements and project scope. Create accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for engineered wood products (EWP), including LVLs, I-joists, and trusses. Utilize CAD software to design and lay out engineered lumber systems to meet project specifications and code requirements. Collaborate with sales staff, contractors, and builders to ensure estimates are aligned with customer needs and budget. Communicate with vendors and manufacturers for up-to-date product information and pricing. Ensure accuracy and completeness in all estimates and documentation. Assist in project planning, product selection, and technical support when needed. Maintain organized records of past and current projects. Experience Minimum 2-3 years of estimating experience in a lumberyard, construction, or building materials environment. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MiTek, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of engineered wood products and building construction practices. Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Familiarity with local building codes and structural design standards. Strong attention to detail, math skills, and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using estimating and design platforms specific to the lumber/building materials industry. Associates or technical degree in construction management, architecture, or related field. Knowledge of residential framing practices and engineered wood applications. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MiTek, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of engineered wood products and building construction practices. Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Familiarity with local building codes and structural design standards. Strong attention to detail, math skills, and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
