Process Mechanical Estimator 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars Plaistow, NH 03865 A leading New England-based contractor specializing in water and wastewater treatment infrastructure is seeking a skilled Process Mechanical Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This is a key position within a well-established and growing company known for delivering complex, mission-critical public works projects throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have experience developing competitive estimates for process piping, equipment installation, and mechanical systems on municipal or industrial water/wastewater treatment projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical estimating effort for water/wastewater infrastructure projects Review and interpret plans, specs, and technical documents related to process mechanical scopes Develop accurate quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing, and build detailed cost estimates Participate in project walk-throughs, bid meetings, and subcontractor negotiations Collaborate with the preconstruction, project management, and field teams to ensure seamless project hand-off Maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and proposal documentation Stay current on market trends, labor rates, and supplier pricing
Qualifications:
3-7+ years of estimating experience with process mechanical or piping systems in heavy civil, utility, or industrial construction Deep knowledge of water/wastewater treatment plant components, including pumps, valves, piping, tanks, and equipment Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Timberline, or similar) Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience preferred
