This position requires expertise in fabrication shop leadership, cost estimation, and project management for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.

Key Responsibilities Steel Shop Foreman Duties:

Supervise fabrication teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in structural steel and miscellaneous metal production. Operate equipment (e.g., forklifts, aerial lifts) and oversee welding, cutting, and assembly processes. Interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Mentor crew members and coordinate schedules to meet deadlines.

Steel Project Estimator/Manager Duties:

Work with the owner to prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects, including material takeoffs and labor hour calculations. Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to define scope and budgets. Manage project timelines, subcontractor coordination, and client communications. Conduct post-bid negotiations and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.

Qualifications Experience:

5+ years in structural steel fabrication, estimating, or project management. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and familiarity with various metal types and fabrication.

Skills:

Leadership in shop environments and ability to troubleshoot fabrication challenges. Experience in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla) and Microsoft Office. Strong communication for client interactions and team mentorship.

Preferred:

Welding certifications. Knowledge of safety protocols (OSHA, ANSI).

Compensation & Benefits Salary:

$28-$35 per hour (commensurate with experience).
