Trenton, NJ 08650 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to negotiate with vendors and subcontractors effectively. The Cost Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting project management efforts and ensuring cost control throughout the construction lifecycle. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation. Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid to create accurate bids and proposals. Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and timelines for projects. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary data for accurate estimating. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices while maintaining quality standards. Monitor ongoing project costs and provide updates to management regarding any discrepancies or potential overruns. Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to cost management. Experience Experience in transit Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is highly desirable. Proficient in using construction estimating software, particularly HeavyBid or similar tools. Strong understanding of cost control measures and techniques within the construction industry. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Experience in project management is a plus, as it enhances the ability to align estimating efforts with overall project goals. $70,306.23 – $84,669.88 per year
