Chief Electrical Estimating Position with a well-establishedelectrical contractor in New Jersey. Prior expereience inElectrical Construction Estimating is required to be considered forthis position. Job Summary Chief Estimator is responsible forplanning, coordinating and directing all estimating functions,including development of project budgets, estimates, cost trackingand project support for all divisions. Develops and implements alldepartment standards and procedures. Responsible for review of allfinal estimates packages to ensure accuracy and completeness. Alsoresponsible for maintaining the company s estimating database.
Manage department activities, makes self available to staff,provides regular performance feedback and develops subordinates’skills and encourages growth. Manage all estimates. Review bidrequests and proposals. Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensurescomplete, accurate and timely completion of estimates. Responsiblefor prioritizing and planning work activities, uses timeefficiently and develops realistic action plans. Delegate workassignments, sets expectations, monitors delegated activities andworkload, motivates others to perform well and accepts feedbackfrom others. Attend job walks and report information back tomanager related to critical differences in job drawings and bidrequirements. Prepare bid summary and review estimates withEstimator, Project Manager and/or Division Manager. Reviewestimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy. Follow-up onbid results and maintain estimate tracking log. Analyze estimatesvs. completed projects. Provide Accubid software system support andmaintain Accubid database including weekly updates. Develop andprovide estimating training. Maintain department confidentiality.
File, organize and maintain estimate files associated withabove-referenced tasks. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualification Requirements Minimum of 10 years electricalestimating experience. Field experience as an electrician or adegree in Construction Management preferred. Extensive experienceusing Accubid software or similar systems. Strong ability toconceptually estimate electrical construction projects. Extensiveworking knowledge of electrical construction industry. Ability tounderstand all types of drawings and technical specifications.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, fire alarm and othersystems. Experience in supervision, coaching and staff development.
Strong analytical skills and statistical background. Strong writtenand verbal communication skills Proficient in use of computers andMicrosoft Office.
