Design Build Estimator Position Available In New York, New York

The longest-standing and one of the most successful civil general contractors is looking for an Estimator to join their team. They have a great company culture, and will be moving into a brand new and recently remodeled office space. The company offers a competitive salary and has excellent benefits and a 401k package. They mainly bid on projects over 100 million dollars in value and are breaking into the design-build market. There is a lot of room to grow in an already established group. I have placed the responsibilities and qualifications below.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimates. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software. Participate in pre-bid meetings and presentations. Provide support during contract negotiations and project planning phases. Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure competitive pricing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in construction and estimating civil infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Proficiency in HCSS and Microsoft Suite.
