Entry Level position in the design and construction field assisting Estimators & Project Management Fresco Decorative Arts New York, NY 10012
Job Summary:
This is an incredible opportunity in a creative environment working for many prestigious and renowned clients in the design, construction, and retail sectors. This role will support and report directly to the Estimating Team by analyzing project documents and drawings. They will also work closely with office personnel to assist with project specific tasks. Involvement and organization in each step along the way are crucial from intake of all job-specific information to the final estimates and invoicing. This key support role in a dynamic creative environment provides professional growth and skill-building opportunities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Receive training to understand the estimating team’s approach and processes for reviewing and annotating project drawings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, drawings, and information within our custom project management software File Maker Pro, Dropbox, and elsewhere. Support in areas such as research and organizing project documentation, work permits, union requirements, legal requirements, etc. Attend daily meetings with the internal team for the most up-to-date information. Support office team as needed – assist team in answering and directing phone calls, making folders with job documents, organizing sample collection, etc. Assist with project paperwork. Coordinate office projects (e.g., lighting, locks, plant care, printer troubleshooting).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Familiarity with architectural drawings, desire to learn all nuances involved in complex drawing sets. Working knowledge of interior design/architectural/construction industries, timing, and financial landscapes is a plus, but not required. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Strong prioritization and decision-making skills with the ability to assess multiple tasks and responsibilities. Proactive with following up on assigned tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled with data analysis, math, algebra, formulas & spreadsheets – very important. Critical thinking and problem solving abilities. High level of professionalism and etiquette. Receptive to feedback and a team player.

Full-time Pay:
$22.00 – $24.00 per hour
