Project types including the assessment, design, and restoration of building envelopes, plazas, commercial and residential interiors; water infiltration and waterproofing consulting, and Local Law 11/FISP inspections and reporting. We perform design services on all types of structures including low-rise and high-rise residential buildings, office complexes, retail, warehouses, parking garages, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and government buildings.
Responsibilities:
Perform condition assessments and develop reports and cost estimates Perform inspections from suspended scaffolds for FISP reporting and envelope repairs Communicate with the client to clearly define the scope of work and budget Develop complete construction documents including drawings, sketches, and specifications Coordinate with other disciplines including structural, MEP, civil, and landscaping Travel to job sites throughout the New York metro area to collect and prepare data for evaluation, review construction work quality and progress, conduct pre-bid meetings, and lead construction progress meetings. Review of contractor submittals and respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) Communicate via phone, email, and sketches to clarify design intent with Contractor Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining good client relationships
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Architecture 3 to 5 years of experience in architectural restoration and design projects 16 Hour Suspended Scaffold Training and ability to perform suspended scaffold inspections Excellent oral and written communication skills Conversant in engineering, architectural, and construction principles Must be comfortable safely performing inspections on roofs, facades, and structures via suspended scaffolds, pipe scaffolds, ladders, aerial manlifts, etc. Advanced user of
