Key Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate cost estimates Prepare itemized material and labor takeoffs Calculate cost factors for use in project planning, vendor selection, and bid preparation Conduct cost reduction and efficiency studies Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to clarify project requirementsand resolve estimate-related questions Maintain and organize historical estimating data and tools Review completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and identify discrepancies Recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and reduce future estimate variances Identify cost trends to support management’s strategic decisions Promote and uphold job site safety, including PPE compliance during site visits Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school OR 6+ months related experience in cost estimating or construction/project management Strong mathematical skills including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical analysis Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with design/estimating software Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and regulatory guidelines Must be comfortable in both office and occasional manufacturing/field environments
EQUIPMENT LISTING
(MACHINES, TOOLS & SOFTWARE): Advanced computer skills that include technical software, as well as the ability to send/receive e-mail and work with other purchasing software. Must be able to read, create and change blueprints and drawings. Must be able to operate Computer, Email, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PPT, and various computer programs. May be required to operate Printer, Copier, Fax Machine, Telephone, Scanner, and calculator, micrometers and gages.
MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMAND
Close mental and visual attention to prepare and analyze data and figures, work on a computer, read, or control machines or processes at a rapid pace that requires close coordination and fine adjustment. Moderate mental and visual attention to coordinate materials for manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND DEMANDS
Moderate Lifting:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects.

- Work in an office environment where there is little exposure to changing temperatures, hazardous chemicals of moving parts. Safety Equipment
- May wear a variety of PPE when visiting the production floor, including safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes and other PPE in accordance with work tasks. Production Environment
- May visit the manufacturing environmental where the employee may encounter directly or indirectly, a variety of production machinery, transport equipment, welding work, and computerized equipment.
During hot weather, work processes can produce condensation on the floor resulting in slippery conditions. Employees are required to wear steel toed, slip resistant shoes while working in production areas.
