We make an investment in our team. We are looking for an Assistant Estimator-Fence to join our team in Swoyersville, PA. The Assistant Estimator is responsible for analyzing bid opportunities and developing detailed, competitive proposals. This role involves assisting the Estimator in assessing project budgets, timelines, and technical requirements, including drawings, specifications, safety, environmental, and contractual obligations to determine labor, material costs, and project schedules. Assistant Estimators assist Estimators to collaborate with upper management and other departments to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet company standards. They assist in setting deadlines, assign responsibilities, and provide regular updates to senior leadership. This role requires a strong background in mathematics and accounting for accurate cost computations.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and compile material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and other costs to create project pricing. Prepare clarifications, pricing forms, and technical documents for bid submission. Review bid documents, identify scope items, and perform quantity takeoffs. Analyze and log pricing details into proposal spreadsheets. Evaluate bid opportunities and determine whether to proceed with submission.

General Responsibilities:

Follow document management procedures (electronic and paper). Abide by company policies and procedures as outlined in handbooks. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Maintain a consistent work schedule, arriving fit for duty. Promote a safe, efficient, and positive work culture with a focus on quality improvement. Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization while respecting company and customer property. Submit timely reports and documentation related to position-specific tasks. Report HR, safety, environmental, or other concerns immediately. Demonstrate a professional attitude, incorporating constructive feedback. Foster collaboration and teamwork across departments. Obtain and maintain all necessary certifications and requirements for the role.

Qualifications & Experience:

Associate’s degree or two (2) years of equivalent field experience required. Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred. Ability to provide references upon request.

Required Skills:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively. Experience in estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to function well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, email, and form applications. Ability to research and stay updated on industry trends. Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.

Physical & Travel Requirements:

May require travel to project sites or company offices. Must be on-call for project needs, emergencies, or adverse conditions. Ability to work at a desk and computer station during shifts. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary. Occasional exposure to construction site hazards. Must be able to traverse and inspect job sites in various weather conditions.
