Construction Estimator Location:

Coventry, RI Custom Iron Works, Inc. is looking for a full time Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent time-management and attention to detail, who thrives in fast-paced environments. Ability to read blueprints and drawings is required. Experience in construction and estimating in the steel industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Prepares estimated costs for construction projects by reviewing project plans and specifications. Develop quality takeoffs and acquire material pricing. Responsible for obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and using this information to compile detailed cost proposals.

Skills Required:

• 1-3 years’ experience with preparing construction cost estimates.
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in MS-Office, Excel, Bluebeam.
• Have strong planning, organizational skills, analytical skills, critical thinking, detail-oriented, technical abilities, and excellent time management.
• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple projects at the same time.
• Have a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of construction and construction methods.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/construction management or related field preferred. Work experience taken into consideration if no degree is held.
