Full-Time (40 hours/week), Permanent Position Summary The Estimator and Inside Sales role is responsible for performing materials takeoffs, preparing accurate and timely quotations, and assisting with the management of ongoing and upcoming construction projects. This role supports the sales process and ensures effective coordination between vendors, internal teams, and clients. A strong ability to read and interpret construction plans is critical to the success of this role. Key Responsibilities Perform material takeoffs from engineered drawings and prepare quotations. Accurately interpret construction plans to understand scope, identify material needs, and ensure comprehensive quotes. Collaborate with Sales team pre-bid to develop and align on estimating strategies. Communicate and maintain strong relationships with vendor representatives. Coordinate with vendors to obtain pricing and ensure timely responses. Collect and organize relevant data, including specifications, plans, and takeoffs, for quote preparation. Track and analyze job win/loss outcomes to support continuous improvement. Serve as the main internal contact for assigned projects—monitoring progress, managing changes, and coordinating with contractors and project managers. Work with operations and account managers to align inventory and delivery schedules with jobsite needs. Follow up on outstanding quotes and project opportunities to drive sales. Maintain organized records and project statuses in CRM/ERP systems (e.g., HubSpot, DDI). Support additional duties as assigned by management. The Importance of Plan Reading Proficiency in reading construction plans is essential for this position. It enables the Estimator and Inside Sales representative to: Perform accurate material takeoffs and quotations Understand project scope, timelines, and technical requirements Identify discrepancies or special requirements early in the bidding process Communicate clearly with contractors, vendors, and internal teams Align deliveries and inventory with project milestones and jobsite schedules Qualifications Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and perform accurate takeoffs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.
