The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and bids based on field measurements, drawings, and client needs. This role requires a combination of fieldwork, technical drafting in AutoCAD, and direct client communication. Key Responsibilities Travel to project sites to perform building measurements and gather field data Convert field notes into accurate and organized background drawings using AutoCAD Develop cost estimates based on preliminary drawings and specifications Prepare and submit competitive bids to clients in a timely and professional manner Engage with clients to clarify project scopes and tailor estimates to meet their expectations and budgets Participate in job closeouts and assist in preparing final inspection reports and documentation Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with actual project requirements and timelines Maintain updated knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and industry trends Qualifications Proven experience as an Estimator in construction, architecture, or a related industry Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create and edit basic technical drawings Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a strong attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Comfortable working independently in the field and interacting with clients
Preferred Education and Background Education:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Drafting & Design, or a related field
Experience:
2+ years of estimating experience in construction, building systems, or architectural projects Field measuring experience is highly preferred Experience using estimating software (e.g., Quickbooks, Bluebeam, or similar) is a plus Other Requirements Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed. Travel is estimated at 5-10%. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
