Job Description
Electrical Estimator Control Engineering Group Casselberry, FL 32707 We are a Premier Electrical Contractor specializing in electrical controls and commercial work. Candidate Role:
The Electrical Estimator determines costs and potential profitability for commercial and industrial electrical contracting jobs. A high level of attention to detail is required along with an analytical approach since the Electrical Estimator reviews blueprints, estimates projects, prepares proposals, generates budgets, evaluates scopes of work all in order to ensure that jobs are profitable and project bids are competitive.
Responsibilities:
Reviews commercial and industrial building plans, blueprints, plan specs and job proposal specifications Determines best job approach based on cost, engineering, and material availability Estimates electrical needs of a project Determines potential profitability of a project including calculating labor cost and supplier material cost Preparing and Submitting project bids Assisting in preparing electrical budgets for projects, contacting, and receiving quotes from suppliers and preparing spreadsheets with all gathered information Analyses and solicits subcontractor and vendor pricing Assists in determining the schedule, project duration and scope of work Participating in project site visits Pursues new projects and clients Helps Project Manager in creating project schedule Coordinates with Project Manager and/or Supervisor all material orders and vendors Creates a project narrative for the Project Manager and/or Supervisor Develops and maintains a good working relationship with customers, vendors, engineers, suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors Coordinates the services and activities of outside contractors as assigned for the purpose of ensuring that contracted work is completed in a safe, effective, and timely manner that it meets District standards and objectives Performs related tasks or other duties as required or assigned These job responsibilities are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Candidate Requirements:
Three (3) or more years of Electrical Estimating experience or minimum of Ten (10) years field experience as Foreman or higher (preferred) Journeyman license or higher (preferred) Experience with Electrical estimating software (preferred) High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Organization and Time Management Skills Ability to quickly assess and analyse multiple data points, including blueprints, material costs and timelines Specific knowledge-based competencies such as electrical codes/laws/rules/regulations/policies and safety practices. Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical work Mathematical Skills Strong attention to detail Effective Written and Communication Skills Ability to work under limited supervision Must be motivated, have initiative and be a Team player Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity
