Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of heavy civil construction projects including highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork, and other infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to develop comprehensive bid proposals and ensure projects are executed within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates. Develop quantity take-offs and unit pricing for labor, equipment, and materials. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing. Identify and assess risk factors, value engineering opportunities, and constructability challenges. Assist in preparing bid packages, proposals, and other required documentation. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs. Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing databases. Coordinate with the project management team to transition successful bids into execution. Monitor industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to refine estimating techniques.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in estimating for heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects. Strong understanding of construction means and methods, and ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., B2W, Agtek, Bluebeam, or similar tools). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with water and sewer projects Experience with DOT (Department of Transportation) projects. Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction regulations.

$75,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
