JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Estimating Assistant. You will support our Estimating Department throughout the entire bidding process while playing a key role in keeping business operations and activities organized and on track. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual capable of working closely with the project team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
Assist Estimators in preparation of proposals including review of plans, specs, and bid documents, quantity take-off, vendor quotes, and cost analysis Communicate directly with vendors and customers Assist setting up for estimating meetings, preparing notes, spreadsheets, and running reports Attend site visits and meetings to take photographs, document site conditions, gather questions and requests for information, and perform due diligence Prepare small material and labor estimates ranging from $5,000 to $50,000.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
1-3 years of construction experience preferred Ability to understand and organize construction plans and specifications Proficient in mathematics, data analysis, and strategic report writing Ability to effectively communicate with management, team members, customers, vendors and trades professionals Must be detail oriented, analytical, have strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines Flexibility and willingness to accommodate last-minute requests in a fast-paced environment, a team player, ready and willing to take on whatever challenge is offered Experience with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets, estimating software and tools, and database managers is preferred Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook) and the ability to adapt quickly to additional programs & software
