Job Summary Elite Constructors is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented estimator with 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil site estimating to join our growing team. Job Responsibilities Act on leads generated by Request for bid postings or internal marketing efforts. Prepares accurate estimates for material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and construction facilities. Building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Attends on-site, pre-bid/proposal conferences as needed. Develops and reviews subcontractor scopes of work and bid packages and accepts, reviews, and analyzes subcontractor quotes for best value. Ensures compliance with all specifications, contract requirements, and Bid Invitations. Presents cost estimates for customer proposals. Prepares scope specifications and requirements, prepares and inputs project schedules, performs quantity take- offs, prepares cost summary sheets, and inputs quantities into estimating software. Maintains an accurate, current database of cost codes and accounts for historical data. Evaluates Company jobs against as-contracted estimates to confirm accuracy of estimate. Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates. Communicates effectively with subcontractors and vendors during the estimating process. Transmits bid information to subcontractors and suppliers. Ensures proper scope of work from subcontractors and suppliers leading up to bid day Gather information and ensure adequate subcontractor and supplier scope and bid submissions. Performs a comprehensive analysis and scoping of specific assigned trades. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned. Education & Experience Minimum required – Two (3-5) years related heavy civil site and utility estimating experience. Knowledge & Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Heavy Bid, Outlook, and Word. Knowledge in Bluebeam, Agtek, and Heavy Bid Software Excellent Project Estimating skills, including execution of engineering calculations and ability to effectively communicate with Owners, Engineers, Project Managers, Subcontractors, and Vendors Competent in reading, understanding, and organizing construction plans and specifications. Understanding of Mathematical Concepts and Application Ability to work independently under pressure while exercising excellent judgement and meeting established deadlines
