Preconstruction Estimator 4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars Nashville, TN Preconstruction Estimator Fulltime Nashville, TN 37211 Position Overview The Preconstruction Estimator is responsible for leading the overall preconstruction process to deliver competitive bids, cost estimates, and comprehensive project budgets. This role involves creating winning strategies, preparing detailed proposals, and managing relationships with clients and design teams during the preconstruction phase. The Preconstruction Estimator ensures successful execution of the preconstruction process and supports business development efforts. Key Responsibilities 1. Preconstruction Leadership Oversee the preconstruction process, resulting in comprehensive deliverables such as competitive bids, negotiated proposals, and cost estimates. Develop and execute strategies to secure projects through competitive bidding or negotiations. Manage and direct project teams, ensuring all preconstruction activities are executed successfully. 2. Proposal and Presentation Development Prepare for client interviews by developing project win strategies. Lead internal and external presentations of estimates and proposals to support business development. 3. Estimating and Budgeting Perform estimating tasks, including self-perform estimating when necessary. Create conceptual budgets and provide accurate cost analysis. Prepare detailed quantity surveys and ensure accurate project cost history reporting. 4. Client and Stakeholder Collaboration Build and maintain relationships with key clients, design teams, and other stakeholders during the preconstruction phase. Collaborate with operations to review project risk assessment and scoring. Align project business plans with operational and leadership goals to ensure profitability. 5. Technology and Process Optimization Leverage construction estimating software and technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Develop general requirements estimates and apply knowledge of

regulations as required. Explore and adopt Lean processes to optimize workflows. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
10+ years of construction estimating experience. Healthcare project experience is preferred. Working Environment Must hold a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Availability to travel overnight and work non-traditional hours as needed. Primarily an office environment but may require visits to construction sites under extreme conditions (hot or cold). Frequent activities include sitting, viewing computer screens, and occasional standing walking, bending, and reaching.
