• Palatka, FL

• Job Summary:

• Apply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems in order to help control and maintain temperature.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• + Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.

+ Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic. + Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use. + Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required. + Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage. + Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors. + Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces. + Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements. + Select appropriate insulation such as fiberglass, Styrofoam, or cork, based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material. + Distribute insulating materials evenly into small spaces within floors, ceilings, or walls, using blowers and hose attachments. + Fill blower hoppers with insulating materials.

• Qualifications:

• + Three (3) years’ experience Industrial Insulating experience. + Two (2) years’ experience in power plant or maintenance experience preferred.

• Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

• + Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign + May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds + Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above + Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas + Must have full range of motion consistent with age + Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders + Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises + Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces + Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
