We are seeking skilled Shipfitters to join our dynamic team. Theideal candidate will possess a strong background in shipbuildingand repair and demonstrate proficiency in working with variousmaterials and tools. As a Shipfitter, you will be crucial inassembling and fitting metal structures, ensuring that allcomponents meet quality standards and specifications. This positionrequires attention to detail, technical expertise, andcollaborative work in a fast-paced environment. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsto determine project specifications. Fit and assemble metal components. Maintain the highest safety standards while working with heavymachinery and equipment. Collaborate with other team members to promote a Safe,Knowledgeable, and Highly productive team. Ensure compliance with quality standards. Assist in the maintenance of tools and equipment used inshipfitting tasks. Qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry as astructural fitter Must be able to read blueprints. Minimal welding experience must be able to tack weld. Must be proficient in the layout and cutting of steel and aluminumusing necessary tools. Must possess the essential tools required to perform shipfittersduties. Excellent math skills with the ability to read a tape measure andother measuring devices. Must maintain dimensional accuracy and fairness of materials to befitted. Excellent problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills Ability to operate equipment safely and comply with all safetystandards. Demonstrates strong work ethic. Must recognize fit-up issues and relay them to the supervisor. Must be able to operate power tools (grinders, saws, drills,etc.)Proven experience in shipfitting. Demonstrates consistency in quality of work with minimal to nodiscrepancies.•Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.•Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly,as well as climb stairs and ladders, and enter confined spaces to complete tasks.
