Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator Job Description:

As a new Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator at Superior Skilled Trades, you can expect each day to be filled with excitement and challenges that will keep you engaged and motivated. You will be working on a Monday through Friday schedule from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. Your daily responsibilities will include interpreting blueprints, measuring and cutting steel pieces with precision, and fitting them together using specialized welding techniques. You will collaborate closely with our team of experts, problem-solving and ensuring that each project meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Structural Steel Fitter/Fabricator:

• A diverse set of skills that combine technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.

In addition to your knowledge and experience in the field, you will need to be familiar with various software and tools to ensure the successful completion of projects. Superior level layout and math skills will be essential in accurately interpreting blueprints and measuring steel pieces. You should have a complete understanding of pre-heat functions to ensure optimal welding performance.

• Proficiency in setting up and using a track torch is required to efficiently cut steel pieces to size. As part of our commitment to safety and quality, you must pass all tack tests for F.A.C.W. (Flux Core) welding and work in compliance with our safety policies and procedures.
• Flexibility is key in this role, as you must be willing to work any schedule required, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
• Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE
• Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
• Depending on assignment, applicants may be subject to pre-employment drug screen and background screening.
