We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter Journeyperson to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. The successful candidate will perform shipfitting tasks, including fabrication, installation, and repair of ship structures, hull components, and related systems, supporting the Mayport Naval Station.

Key Responsibilities:

Fabricate, install, and repair ship structures, plating, and systems following technical drawings and specifications. Work with welding, cutting, grinding, and fitting tools to ensure precise fitting and assembly. Perform inspections and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. Collaborate with shipyard personnel, engineers, and inspectors to coordinate repair activities. Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed and materials used. Adhere to safety procedures and environmental regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

Valid Journeyperson Shipfitter Certification or equivalent experience. 3+ years of shipyard experience. Minimum of 3-5 years of shipfitting experience, preferably with naval or marine vessels. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and measuring instruments. Strong understanding of ship systems, welding codes, and safety protocols. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Compensation:

Up to $32/hour for 1st Class Shipfitter Journeypersons, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Additional Requirements:

Willingness to work in a maritime environment, including physically demanding tasks. Availability to work overtime or shifts as required for project timelines.
