  • email resume Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and fitting metal structures and components in the shipbuilding process. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Shipfitter will ensure that all assemblies meet industry standards and specifications. Duties Assemble and fit metal components according to blueprints and specifications. Utilize hand tools and machinery to shape, cut, and weld materials. Perform soldering tasks as required, ensuring adherence to codes and standards. Operate cranes and forklifts safely to transport materials throughout the worksite. Conduct inspections of finished assemblies for quality assurance. Use basic math skills for measurements and calculations during assembly processes. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Skills Proficient in welding techniques with a strong understanding of various welding methods. Familiarity with codes and standards relevant to shipbuilding and metal fabrication. Ability to operate hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments accurately. Experience with machining processes is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues effectively. Excellent teamwork capabilities, with a commitment to achieving project goals collaboratively.
