are seeking skilled 1st Class Shipfitters to join our growing team in Houma, LA. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established company in the maritime industry, performing critical shipbuilding tasks with precision and expertise. If you’re an experienced shipfitter with a passion for quality craftsmanship, we want to hear from you!

Position Overview:

As a 1st Class Shipfitter, you will be responsible for layout, cutting, metric measuring, and structural fitting processes on ships. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of ship fitting experience and will be able to demonstrate their skills through a hands-on craft test.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform layout and structural fitting processes.
• Use a torch to cut materials.
• Measure materials using metric units (cm, mm, etc.).
• Ensure all work meets strict quality standards and specifications.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass drug screening, Fit test, and Audio Gram.
• Minimum of 6 months of ship fitting experience.
• Proven ability to perform layout, cutting with a torch, and metric measurements.
• Proficiency in structural fitting processes.
• Ability to successfully pass a hands-on craft test as part of the qualification process.

• Strong understanding of ship fitting techniques and best practices.
• Proficient in using torches for cutting materials.
• High attention to detail and precision in fitting processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to ship fitting.
