Responsibilities:
Perform ship fitting tasks including layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal structures and components. Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise fitting. Use various tools and equipment, including welding machines, grinders, and cutting torches, to complete ship fitting projects. Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure efficient workflow and project timelines. Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets shipyard standards and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
Must be able to use a blowing torch Proven experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter. Strong knowledge of ship fitting techniques, materials, and industry best practices. Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Proficient in the use of ship fitting tools and equipment. Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a recognized ship fitting apprenticeship program. Must be a 1st Class Shipfitter. Minimum [3] years of experience as a 1st Class Ship Fitter.
