Job Summary:

As a Structural Fitter, you will be responsible for fitting and assembling structural metal components according to blueprints and technical specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components using hand and power tools Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications Position and clamp parts together before welding or bolting Verify dimensions using measuring tools such as squares, levels, and tape measures Prepare materials and components for welding and fabrication Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment safely Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure accuracy and efficiency Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred 2+ years of experience as a structural fitter or in a similar metal fabrication role Strong blueprint reading and layout skills Proficient in the use of measuring tools and fitting equipment Ability to read and interpret welding symbols a plus Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions

Preferred:

Experience in steel fabrication shops or construction environments Familiarity with AWS standards Forklift and crane operation certification a plus
