Structural Fitter CDR General Services LLC Port Allen, LA 70767
Location:
Port Allen, LA Hours:
M-F 7am to 3:30pm, some weekends as needed
Pay Rate:
$20-$22
Overview:
We’re seeking a skilled Structural Fitter to help assemble and fit large structural steel components according to detailed blueprints and layout specifications. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with precision and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Duties:
Accurately measure, layout, and fit structural steel components Assemble beams, columns, braces, and other steel structures using tack welding, clamps, and tools Operate tools such as grinders, cutting torches, and drills Interpret shop drawings and layout instructions to ensure correct dimensions and alignment Perform quality checks to ensure proper fit before final welding Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all safety protocols
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience fitting structural steel in a fabrication shop Strong blueprint reading and layout skills Familiarity with industry tools (e.g., torches, squares, levels, tape measures) Ability to work independently and in a team Must have reliable transportation Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Schedule:
8 hour shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
