Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Shipfitter to join our team. The Shipfitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and maintaining various shipboard systems and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on precision and safety.

Duties:

• Assemble and install shipboard equipment, including piping, pumps, and valves, according to schematics and blueprints.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on shipboard systems, including rigging, welding, and caliper work.
• Perform heavy lifting and rigging tasks to move equipment and materials.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including ohmmeters, to test and inspect electrical systems.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with shipboard equipment.
• Collaborate with other shipfitters and mechanics to complete projects efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a related field, such as shipbuilding or repair.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to apply this knowledge in a shipboard setting.
• Experience with rigging, welding, and caliper work.
• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments, including ohmmeters.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and rigging tasks safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with shipboard schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$65,000.00

• $75,000.
