1st Class Shipfitter Position Available In Jackson, Mississippi

1st Class Shipfitter Chipton-Ross Pascagoula, MS 39567 Chipton-Ross is seeking experienced First-Class Shipfitters to support shipbuilding operations in Pascagoula, MS . This is a hands-on, skilled trade position working on the fabrication, assembly, and erection of structural steel components in marine vessels. Work environments include high elevations, confined spaces, and variable weather, with shifts running 24/7 based on project demand. Safety is a top priority, and we adhere to the highest standards in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints in both metric and standard formats Fit, layout, and fabricate steel plate and beam components Operate shipfitting tools such as torches, grinders, jacks, chain falls, levels, and squares Set up and align units using datum lines and tolerances Complete blasting and painting functions as required by contract specifications Identify and resolve blast/paint deficiencies

Required Qualifications:

3-5 years of shipfitting or related trade experience High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution Strong comprehension of trade math and blueprint reading Proficiency with fabrication tools and equipment Ability to pass written and hands-on skill assessments

Preferred Qualifications:
