Pascagoula, MS Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Shipfitter to join our team. As a Shipfitter, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing various components of ships and vessels. This is a hands-on position that requires expertise in power tools, welding, sheet metal work, and precision measuring instruments.

Duties:

• Fabricate and assemble metal components for ship construction and repair
• Use power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and weld metal materials
• Perform sheet metal work including bending, shaping, and forming
• Rig and lift heavy materials and equipment as needed
• Conduct electrical work related to ship systems
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure accurate dimensions
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Shipfitter or similar role in shipbuilding or repair industry
• Proficient in using power tools and hand tools for cutting, shaping, and welding metal materials
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal work techniques and practices
• Familiarity with rigging procedures for lifting heavy objects
• Ability to perform electrical work related to ship systems is a plus
• Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers
• Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks as required
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work
