The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipbuilding for new construction. As a Shipfitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal structures and components for various vessels. Your expertise will contribute to the overall quality and safety of our maritime operations. With 3 years of experience, you will receive the following: $29 hour $1000 sign on bonus Duties Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to blueprints and specifications. Perform heavy lifting and rigging tasks as required during the assembly process. Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in measurements and fittings. Weld components together using various welding techniques, ensuring structural integrity. Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition for optimal performance. Requirements 3 years of proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role within the shipbuilding industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in welding techniques and experience with various welding equipment. Familiarity with military specifications is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions. Experience using precision measuring instruments for accurate fabrication work. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members.
