JOB SUMMARY :
The Welding / Metal Technician 2 is responsible for the preparation and welding of various metals according to specific structural requirements. In addition, this position aids in ensuring documentation and BOMs of the various builds are accurate and that inventory and supplies are filled. This position also maintains and follows all quality and safety standards. This position will work out of the Bond Machine and Fabrication Warehouse in Manheim
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion. Ability to read, understand and interpret documents/drawings to maintain quality and procedures. Ability to read and decipher measurements using tape measures and other means of measuring ensuring part conformity. Mechanical aptitude and good math skills. Ability to follow directives from the supervisor, management positions. Ability to stand at workstation for attentive welding throughout the scheduled workday. Can stack and keep track of counts on pallets, boxes, carts etc. Ability to move skids / parts with hand trucks and hand jacks. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Displays motivation and achieves goals. Strives to continuously build knowledge. Works cohesively with others.
EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in good welding techniques. Experience in identifying parts/materials for a build. Experience making life-safety products.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Ability to weld small gauge to large gauge aluminum, steel, and stainless steel while meeting structural and aesthetic requirements. Prep work, set up and use fixtures, and lay out parts for building and measure correctly using drawings provided. Evaluate and re-evaluate weld times, communicating to the supervisor to adjust BOMs if needed. Double check components for print conformity before welding. Communicate issues with part drawings to the supervisor. Keep supply inventory and request needs to the supervisor to avoid down time. Identify and implement ways for improving efficiency. Produce quality work with minimal mistakes. Meet production due dates. Meet attendance and punctuality policies. Maintain quality and safety standards. Maintain equipment. Grinding and polishing as needed.
