Job Description:

Structural Steel Fitter Position Overview A Structural Steel Fitter is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components used in construction projects, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. The role requires interpreting blueprints, performing accurate measurements, cutting and welding materials, and ensuring quality control in adherence to safety and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Fabrication and Assembly Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the necessary materials and assembly process. Measure, cut, and prepare steel components using tools such as saws, torches, and grinders. Assemble structural steel components using bolts, welding, or rivets as specified in the design. Installation Secure components with bolts, clamps, or welding to ensure structural integrity. Inspect and verify that installed steel conforms to project specifications. Quality Control and Safety Inspect all fabricated and assembled steel for defects or inaccuracies. Ensure all work meets industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA and company safety policies. Tools and Equipment Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure efficiency and safety.

Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Proven experience (2-5 years) as a steel fitter or in a related role in construction or manufacturing. Familiarity with welding techniques.

Skills and Abilities:
