Galvanized Grinder Job Description The ideal candidate will work in a solo facility while wearing an air-conditioned air suit. This role is best suited for introverted and self-motivated individuals. Responsibilities Operate dual-action sanders, electric grinders, and high-speed grinders with meticulous attention to detail to smooth out all crevices and flawed areas on trailers. Operate hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, torque wrenches, power bleeders, and files. Inspect and feel workpieces to ensure surfaces meet quality standards. Bleed brakes accurately by following manuals and work instructions. Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels. Maintain, organize, and clean the workstation and equipment, including changing grinding pads. Comply with safety regulations and PPE requirements, such as gloves, face shields, and steel toe shoes. Be an inspiring example of the company’s mission by consistently providing quality results. Ensure all actions comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Complete other duties and cross-training activities as assigned. Essential Skills Experience with grinders and grinding processes. Knowledge of production, assembly, and general labor tasks. Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively. Proficiency in reading blueprints and operating machines. Skills in polishing, sanding, and metal finishing. Experience with fabrication, warehouse production, and machine shop operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with deburring and janitorial duties. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryville, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.46 – $19.46/hr.
