  • Overview Beyond Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Ironworker Lead, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee.

The selected candidate will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal, current BNH employees only. External candidates will not be considered. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work. Job Summary The successful candidate will, under general supervision, as a working group leader over lower grade craftsman direct and perform mechanical and manual work in the testing, operating, and shop area of an engineering test facility.

Job Duties:

Prepares test facility equipment for operations and prepares test articles for testing
Installs test articles, and checks installations
Troubleshoots equipment, test articles, and installations in case of malfunctions
Operates plant equipment during tests
Assists in tests and removes test articles after tests
Fabricates, installs and maintains metal structures, parts and assemblies and performs other rigging and ironwork
Accomplishes maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation
Uses a wide variety of hand and powered tools, powered equipment, measuring and testing equipment
It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy
Participation in functional specific safety training
Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
Six (6) years of progressive ironworker experience in industrial layout, fabrication, installation, erection and rigging in an aeronautical testing lab or shop, or eight (8) years of progressive related ironwork experience
Ability to skillfully operate and work with the wide variety of hand and powered tools associated with trade
Required to be certified welding

Welding Test:

1/2″ carbon steel plate (A36). SMAW (E7018) double welded
Positions – 2G, 3G, and 4G
Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams or sketches and to develop working details from field or design measurements
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
Current U. S. Citizenship required
Must have a valid State Driver’s License
