Jones, Jr. and Associates, Inc. ( DMJA ) is seeking qualified individuals to become a member of our design team with experience ranging from 3+ years of related experience. Potential candidates must be a Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Florida. The selected candidate will be responsible for multiple tasks in the preparation of plans from conceptual to construction documents for a wide range of projects. Applicants are expected to possess a demonstrated knowledge in the preparation of landscape plans, amenity plans, graphic presentations exhibits, as well as, the ability to balance work on several projects in an efficient and creative manner. DMJA is a Fort Myers Florida based, Landscape Architectural, Planning and Certified Arborists firm, incorporated in 1981 after the acquisition of the area’s oldest landscape architectural firm. We are now in our fifth decade of providing design to Southwest Florida. Stewardship of our natural resources and the reconciliation of man and his environment, built or natural, are just two of the precepts we have pledged ourselves to uphold! DMJA has the comprehensive experience and background to provide a wide range of consulting services for various project types, including a successful resume in the public sector. We take pride in providing our Clients with superior and innovative design, efficient management, accurate and timely responses, as well as, overall project economy. Maximizing and integrating the Client’s goals and objectives in a solution that fits the site’s inherent parameters is our primary objective.

Applicants Requirements:
Project Design:

Develop and execute innovative landscape designs for a diverse range of projects, including parks, residential developments, commercial spaces, and urban revitalization initiatives.

    Site Analysis:

    Conduct site assessments, analyze environmental factors, and assess the feasibility of proposed designs. This includes understanding topography, soil conditions, vegetation, and existing structures.

      Concept Development:

      Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to create design concepts that meet project goals and align with the client’s vision.

        Master Planning:

        Develop comprehensive master plans that incorporate elements such as land use, hardscapes, plantings, water features, and sustainable design principles.

          Regulatory Compliance:

          Ensure that all designs and plans comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and zoning requirements.

            Sustainability:

            Integrate sustainable practices and principles into landscape design, including native plant selection, water conservation, and green infrastructure.

              Budgeting:

              Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for landscape projects and manage the budget throughout the project’s lifecycle.

                Construction Oversight:

                Oversee the implementation of landscape projects, working closely with contractors to ensure designs are executed as intended.

                • Collaborate and monitor team members’ adherence to project estimates and budgets
                Client Communication:

                Maintain clear and effective communication with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project.

                Requirements:
                • Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Florida
                • Strong proficiency in landscape design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam Land FX, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office) and industry-standard design practices.
                • Knowledge of plant materials, sustainable design practices, and construction techniques.
                • Familiarity with horticulture, irrigation, and construction practices.
                • Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
                • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
                • Understanding of local zoning codes and regulations related to landscape architecture.
                • Valid Florida driver’s license required.

                Excellent driving record.
