Landscape Estimator & Designer (Hybrid Role) Are you someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and precision? We’re looking for a versatile professional who can balance the art of landscape design with the science of construction estimating. This dual-role opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping outdoor environments while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. You’ll be involved in both residential and commercial projects, working closely with clients, project managers, and field teams to turn ideas into reality-from initial sketches to final walkthroughs. Requirements
A degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
1-3 years of hands-on experience in landscape estimating and/or design (design-build experience is a plus).
Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, LMN, Aspire, or similar platforms.
Solid understanding of construction techniques, grading, irrigation, planting, and hardscape installation.
Strong visual and spatial design capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
A passion for sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces. Estimating Responsibilities (50%)
Review project documents and blueprints to develop accurate cost projections.
Conduct material take-offs and prepare detailed bids.
Visit job sites to assess conditions and gather data.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
Prepare change orders and value-engineered alternatives.
Maintain a historical cost database to improve future estimates. Design Responsibilities (50%)
Meet with clients to understand their vision and site-specific needs.
Create conceptual and detailed designs using CAD, 3D modeling, and hand sketches.
Select plants, materials, and features that align with the project’s goals and environmental context.
Produce presentation boards, renderings, and construction documents.
Ensure compliance with local codes and sustainability standards.
Coordinate with external consultants when needed.
