Landscape Designer Job Description As a Landscape Designer, you will work closely with clients, engineers, and building architects to understand project requirements. Your role will involve assisting clients in defining their priorities by preparing preliminary sketches of various options, preparing site plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and coordinating the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures. You will create graphic representations of plans using CADD software, select appropriate landscaping materials, inspect landscape project progress, and engage in marketing activities or presentations to secure new work. Responsibilities Meet with clients, engineers, and building architects to understand project requirements. Assist clients in defining their priorities and vision by preparing preliminary sketches. Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures. Prepare graphic representations of plans using CADD software. Select appropriate landscaping materials. Inspect landscape project progress to ensure adherence to plans. Engage in marketing activities or presentations to secure new work. Modify new or existing plans as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience in landscape design, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and landscape architecture. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and CAD and modeling software. Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models. 1+ year of experience in a related field. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and modeling software. Work Environment The role requires working with computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and Microsoft Office Suite. The position involves both office work and site inspections to ensure project progress. The work environment promotes creativity and collaboration with various stakeholders to bring innovative landscape designs to life.
