In this role, you will be responsible for handling lumber products, operating a cash register, providing exceptional customer service, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring that all materials are delivered safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong physical abilities and a commitment to safety while working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Load and unload lumber products from delivery trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques. Assist in the organization and maintenance of the lumber yard, ensuring that materials are stored properly and accessible. Prepare orders for delivery by accurately picking and packing lumber products as per customer specifications. Operate delivery vehicles such as box trucks or vans to transport lumber to various job sites or customers. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and ensuring their needs are met. Qualifications Previous experience in a warehouse or lumberyard setting is preferred but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift. Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus; certification may be required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a courier or delivery driver is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling inventory. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Commitment to safety practices and procedures while performing job duties.
