• SUMMARY OF POSITION

• To provide maximum service to the member-consumer by effectively and efficiently performing the line technician duties required in construction and maintenance of distribution system; learning and applying pertinent Cooperative policies and procedures; and practicing and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.2.

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs elementary line construction and maintenance functions under supervised conditions.“`{=html}“`2. Will become qualified through training in the following areas:“`{=html}“`1. APPA safety manual (part )2. Use and care of protective equipment3. Use and care of pole climbing equipment and attend climbing school4. Utility equipment operation5. Commercial drivers license6. CPR/First Aid certification7. Distribution material identification8. Chain saw operation.“`{=html}“`3. Participates in safety, job training, employee and annual meetings.“`{=html}“`4. Performs maintenance inspections of vehicles as assigned or designated.“`{=html}“`5. Performs such other duties as assigned.“`{=html}“`3.

• QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience, Education and Licensure
• 1. High school diploma or GED. Must learn Satilla construction/maintenance specifications. Must gain a basic knowledge of electricity, first aid, safety rules, artificial respiration and an understanding of materials, tools and their uses.“`{=html}“`1. 2.
• Skills/Abilities
• 1. Must have or obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Drivers Class A License within six months of hire date. Must maintain a valid Class A commercial drivers license at all times. Must demonstrate proficiency in the handling of tools and equipment used in the trade.
• Personal Characteristics
• 1. Must pass Satilla REMCs required post-offer physical examination including a drug and alcohol testing.2. Must be willing to work extended shifts.3. Must be interested in Satilla REMCs objectives and programs.4. Must have an interest in a program of self-development under supervision and be willing to accept increasing responsibilities.
