Job DutiesUnder direct supervision, rigs up and rigs down cementing serviceequipment on work locations to include spotting of cement storagevessels, pre-mixing of spacer fluids, identifying additives to bemixed on-the-fly, rigging-up appropriate data monitoring equipment,planning emergency backup equipment and contingencies Learns toperform pre-job calculations related to pipe capacities andvolume/height math, plug landing pressures, absolute volumes(including total water requirements for job), hydrostatic anddifferential pressure, resulting forces, balanced plugs, bulkcement blending, calculations to include liquid additives andweighted spacers, and pressure to reverse. Learns to completedocuments, reports, and forms related to the cementing serviceperformed Trains and provides guidance to operator assistants inthe proper performance of pre-trip and post-trip vehicleinspections and associated paperwork and/or reports Trains operatorassistants in the operation of some or all of the following: cementpumping and mixed equipment, blenders, liquid additive meteringsystems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition systems, AutomaticDensity Control (ADC) systems, bulk cement blending, delivery, andstorage systems, manifold equipment, and cementing plug releasingtools Demonstrates basic knowledge of products such as cementingblends, spacer fluid systems, sodium silicate fluid system, losscirculation additives, casing attachments, float equipment,multiple stage cementing tools, and squeeze packers Understandsbasic lab test data such as pump time, density, yield, water ratio,etc. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on costcontainment, efficiency, profitability or operations Consequencesof error are easily measured and can be confined QualificationsRequires completion of a high school diploma or equivalent 6 monthsof experience as an Operator Assistant II-Cementing; Completion ofOperator Assistant II – Cementing competencies, or similar level ofcompetence from previous industry experience Class A CommercialDriver’s License (CDL) Required; Manual transmission is preferredMust have a satisfactory driver record with no DWI/DUI convictionsin the past three years or any current DWI/DUI charges Given thenature of oil field service work, the ability to communicateeffectively with others is necessary.
