Job DutiesUnder direct supervision, operates all cement pumping and mixingequipment: blenders, liquid additive metering systems, centrifugalpumps, data acquisition systems, Automatic Density Control (ADC)systems, bulk cement blending, delivery and storage systems,manifolding equipment, and cementing plug releasing tools Performspre-job calculations related to pipe capacities and volume/heightmath, plug landing pressures, absolute volumes (including totalwater requirements for job), hydrostatic and differential pressure,resulting forces, balanced plugs, bulk cement blending,calculations to include liquid additives and weighted spacers,pressure to reverse, and determining burst and collapse Sets-up andutilizes a controller to run ADC software for the purpose ofmonitoring and acquiring job data and for accurate mixing of cementslurries in the performance of a cementing job Downloads controllerand/or performs real-time report generation of job data using theappropriate computer system Completes documents, reports, and formsrelated to the cementing service performed Trains and providesguidance to less experienced Service Operators and OperatorAssistants in the operation of some or all of the following: Cementpumping and mixing equipment, blenders, liquid additive meteringsystems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition systems, ADC systems,bulk cement blending, delivery and storage systems, manifoldingequipment, and cementing plug releasing tools Assists incommunicating the pre-job and on-the-job progress to customer Jobtasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment,efficiency, profitability or operations Consequences of error areeasily measured and can be confined Promotes safety awareness andenvironmental consciousness, and complies with all applicablesafety and environmental procedures and regulations Ensurescompliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulationsand guidelines Promotes and takes an active part in qualityimprovement processes Qualifications Requires completion of a highschool diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience as ServiceOperator I – Cementing or similar level of competence from previousindustry experience Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)Required; Manual transmission is preferred Must have a satisfactorydriver record with no DWI/DUI convictions in the past three yearsor any current DWI/DUI charges Given the nature of oil fieldservice work, the ability to communicate effectively with others isnecessary.
