Job Description
Service Technician / Lead Service Technician – Propane Systems Modern Gas Sales, Inc. Honesdale, PA 18431 We’re seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician or Lead Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of propane appliances and systems, and the ability to assess installation and service needs in the field.
Key Responsibilities :
Diagnose, service, and repair propane appliances, including: Furnaces, Direct vent wall heaters, Water heaters, Commercial cooking and heating appliances Order and track necessary parts for repairs and installations Conduct on-site surveys at customer residences to determine: Appropriate tank size and placement;Line sizing and regulator requirements; Total BTU load for proper system design Write up detailed quotes based on survey findings for customer approval Ensure compliance with local building codes and LP gas code requirements Maintain accurate records of service work, quotes, and parts used Provide clear, professional communication with customers and internal team (Lead Tech) Mentor and support junior technicians as needed
Qualifications :
5+ years of hands-on experience in propane system service, installation, or HVAC systems Strong working knowledge of LP gas systems , regulators, and appliance service Familiarity with
NFPA 54, NFPA
58, and local gas codes Competence in site assessment and quote preparation Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently Valid driver’s license w/ clean driving record. CDL B mandatory with Hazmat and Tanker Relevant certifications or licensing (Trac Pipe, LP gas certifications) preferred Familiarity/Experience in operating boom/crane trucks Experience in customer relations, able to maintain calm and professional demeanor
