Hydro Field Technician – Logan Martin Dam
Vincent, AL
Hydro Field Technician – Logan Martin Dam The Field Technician has general responsibility for performance of field work within the Hydro Services Group. Specific responsibilities could include any of the following: Operation and maintenance of equipment In-situ testing Surveillance activities Geotechnical, environmental and materials sampling Concrete and foundation repairs Ground modifications Accurate recording and reporting of technical and administrative data May provide work direction for contract employees and contractors
Education Requirements :
Minimum High School Diploma (preferred)
Experience Requirements :
Experience in handling small tools and equipment. Experience in geotechnical drilling. Experience in grouting cementitious materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Valid driver’s license. Physically able to perform drilling and grouting activities. Ability to communicate well with clients, supervisor, team leader and peers. Thorough knowledge of all appropriate safety rules and environmental regulations. Ability to operate small equipment. Ability to climb ladders. As the Field Technician gains experience and progresses through the job family the Technician should demonstrate increasing expertise in any, or all, the business units and will accept additional responsibilities.
Field Technician III :
Perform drilling and grouting activities including: Set drill casing. Perform maintenance on drilling and grouting equipment per manufacturers’ operation and maintenance manuals. Monitor surface conditions during drilling and grouting activities. Perform work in accordance to all OSHA and APCO safety requirements. Perform work in accordance to all EPA and ADEM environmental requirements.
Field Technician II :
Same as Field Technician III. Develop and implement JSB’s. Operate heavy equipment (e.g., loader, dump truck, drill, etc.) Operate batch plant equipment and controls. Perform field calculations applicable to drilling and grouting activities. Follow and execute the QA/QC plan.
Field Technician I :
Same as Field Technician II. Perform grouting and drilling activities per design plans and specifications. Perform dam safety inspections. Perform safety audits and inspections. Mentor less experienced team members. Perform QA/QC testing per ASTM test methods. Operate borehole logging equipment and process data.
Field Technician Sr :
Same as Field Technician I. Develop and train field technicians in grouting and drilling activities. Perform QA/QC responsibilities as required by specs and procedures.
