Loader Operator/Laborer O’Brien Ready Mix 13670 Old Highway 59, Siloam Springs, AR 72761 Job Summary The Plant Laborer/Part Time Loader Operator reports directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for the precast clocks, yard maintenance and cleaning, and the proper care and maintenance of all ready mix plant equipment. As part time loader will be responsible for the safe and proper handling, loading, and storage of aggregate materials. Job Requirements Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent desired Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening and physical Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures and wearing of required safety equipment and clothing Must have reliable transportation and be at work at the appointed time ready to start with proper safety attire and equipment Punch a time clock Required to work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with an occasional Saturday Must be able to perform multiple tasks of sustained viewing activity at the rear of the loader utilizing mirrors while driving and manipulating equipment controls Must be able to use various tools and equipment in a safe manner to perform job functions Duties On a daily basis, block forms will need to be set up, broke down and put away Assist with and perform other reasonable tasks around the general plant and yard facilities Assist with or perform plant maintenance and service as requested Monitor and report mechanical problems associated with loader, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections Assist with and perform other reasonable tasks around the general plant and yard facilities Operation and Maintenance of Equipment Perform maintenance on all equipment and plan Greasing of equipment and plant Safely and efficiently operate a rubber tire front end loader to lift, transport, and load bulk aggregate materials to and from various areas of plant property Perform and document daily equipment inspections of the loader Perform regular preventative maintenance of the loader including but not limited to:

  • Check and maintain all fluid levels as described by the equipment manufacturer including water, oil, transmission and hydraulic fluids
  • Check and maintain tire pressure as described by the equipment manufacturer
  • Grease all hubs and other components as described by the equipment manufacturer Keep the loader clean both inside and out Load materials for customers as requested into dump trucks or onto trailers, but never into a pickup bed Physical Demands Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time often on wet, slick and/or uneven terrain or surfaces Must be capable of lifting, carrying and/or toting up to 75 lbs Must be able to bend/stoop, squat/crouch, push/pull, climb, kneel and twist Must be able to work both inside and outside, in heat and cold and around moving equipment Must be able to climb in to and out of the loader Must be able to manipulate all loader controls safely and accurately by pushing, pulling, squeezing and turning livers, knobs, buttons and wheels
