Job Description
The TCM Assistant Operator ensures policies, procedures, and all activities pertaining to this position are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives at the Pickle Line and Tandem Cold Mill on their respective crew assignments.
Digital assessment test is required to bepleted within 14 days of submitting application.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements are followed and a priority.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are carried out in job areas and grounds.
Effectivelymunicate with the PLTCM Operations to ensure roll changes, emulsion control and improvements.
Ensure proper Inspections of P&O and Cold Roll material are carried out to support customer requirements.
Ensure coil handling operations are carried out to ensure continuous line operation
Assist team members with daily operations as needed and assist in development of teammates while ensuring crew safety.
Qualifications:
Quality, detail, and safety oriented; mechanically inclined and self-motivated
Good insight to team dynamics with strong verbalmunication skills andputer literate
Ability to work without direct supervision
General Education Development Test (GED) desired
Basics understanding of Steel Mill Process
Good understanding of Cold Rolling Process and Technologies
Good understanding of Hot and Cold Rolling Defects
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for steel mill production areas, with mobile and rotary equipment, suspended coils, moderate noise levels and dusty/greasy areas. Physically demanding work will be required in the production environment and the ability to routinely lift and move heavy objects during shift is required.
Typical work hours are 12-hour shifts, which rotate days and nights. The results in working some weekends/holidays and overtime as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not supervise others.
